In Memoriam – Board Member Sher Landrum

Many in our community knew Sherry (Sher) Landrum,who passed away suddenly on December 7, 2025, at the age of 76, at her home in Snohomish, Washington—just two days before she was scheduled to return to Cathedral City for the winter. Sher was deeply involved in our HOA and was passionate about maintaining our community to the highest standards. A retired CPA, she purchased her property here in 2013 and faithfully served on the HOA Board of Directors as Treasurer for more than ten years. As a snowbird, Sher spent 5-6 months each winter/ spring in the desert and truly embraced community life. 

She was a familiar presence at many clubhouse events, including bingo and music nights. Sher is survived by her 3 children, Stacy, Dustin, and Stony; 10 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. Her beloved dog, Toby, has been re-homed with a caring family in the Seattle area. Sher will be laid to rest this summer in Wyoming alongside her parents. She will be well missed by her friends and neighbors.

New Management Company & Payment Address

MGR Property Management has replaced WhiteStar Property Management as our HOA’s management firm. Contact information is on the Contact Us page of this site. Bianca Arreola is out representative.

Effectively immediately, all payments to the HOA need to be made to the NEW lockbox address: Cathedral Canyon CC Association #1, c/o MGR Property Management, 2020 Columbia St. #215, San Diego, CA 92101.

If you use your bank’s bill pay, please update the mailing address immediately. Payments sent to the old address will NOT forward to MGR after March of 2025.

New trash pickup day – Thursdays

The Board would like you to know that the trash pickup days have been changed. The next trash day will be Thursday, August 29, 2024, and will be every Thursday thereafter. Trash, recycle etc is to be put on your curb no earlier than 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Then on Thursday your bins should be brought back in no later than 6 p.m.

Please advise your family, guests and tenants of this change so that you are not subject to a fine.

New Monthly Payment Lockbox Address

While the preferred way to pay your monthly dues is via the online portal, some of you mail checks to the lockbox. This address has just changed. The new address is now shown on the Pay Your HOA Dues page.

The current lockbox should be used and will continue to process payments until 11/30/23.

The new lockbox will HOLD all payments received prior to 12/1/23 and process on 12/1/23.

Desertscaping for south side of Paseo Real

Desertscaping for the south side of Paseo Real is underway. Removal of turf is in progress. Please do not allow your pets to enter the areas that are being removed and try to avoid walking on these areas. You may notice colored marking paint to define sub-areas for planting and rock placement; this paint is non-toxic (food coloring based). If you have any questions about this project, please contact Association Manager Liz Weber.

New Board for 2023-2024

Directors whose terms expired this year ran unopposed and hence will continue for another term. The Board voted to appoint David Lapenat to the board seat that has been empty.

Following the Organizational Meeting, the Board positions are as follows for 2023-2024:

Are you seeing any issues with the pools or with landscaping?

Homeowners are reminded that the landscapers, pool technicians and other vendors receive their direction from the Board of Directors via Desert Management. Please do not address vendors directly. If you see an issue that should be addressed, please contact WhiteStar Management so that they can log the issue and present to the Board and/or the vendor for resolution.
